I am a historian of modern philosophy and philosopher of religion at James Madison University in Virginia. Before that, I was Ussher Assistant Professor in Berkeley Studies (Early Modern Philosophy) at Trinity College Dublin. My historical work focuses on issues at the intersection of metaphysics, theology, and philosophy of science in 17th and 18th century philosophy, especially the work of George Berkeley. In contemporary philosophy of religion, I am interested in a variety of metaphysical issues related to divine and human freedom and God's relation to the created world.
